Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer (M365, Azure, GCP & Identity)

The Role
The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer (M365, Azure, GCP & Identity) is responsible for engineering, implementing, and operational support of Microsoft 365, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and enterprise identity (AD/Entra).
This critical role focuses on delivering secure, standardised, and automated solutions, translating architectural designs and roadmaps into scalable platform implementations and operational services.
As a senior technical expert within the engineering team, the Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer collaborates with Architecture, Security, Development, and Operations teams to ensure effective integration, delivery, and operation of solutions.
The role embeds security, resilience, automation, and operability through implementation, driving consistency and optimisation across M365, Azure, GCP, and Identity platforms. Through engineering excellence, this role:

Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Engineers and supports secure, resilient, automated, and operationally effective solutions across the following platforms:
- Microsoft 365 Platforms
- Implementation, configuration, and operational support of productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Intune)
- Governance, security settings, and lifecycle management activities
- Azure Cloud
- Deployment and support of landing zones, subscriptions, connectivity, platform services, and governance aligned with standards
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Implementation and operational support of project structures, networking, workload environments, and security configurations
- Identity & Access
- Engineering and operation of Active Directory and Entra ID
- Authentication, Conditional Access, privileged access, identity governance, and directory integration
- Cloud Security & Compliance
- Secure configurations, monitoring, logging, encryption, and policy enforcement across cloud platforms

- Standardisation and Automation
- Drives standardisation, automation, tooling, and operational consistency across cloud, hybrid, and identity frameworks.

Solution Engineering & Operation
- Implements and operates platform solutions aligned to architectural standards.
- Configures and operates M365, Azure, GCP, and identity solutions.
- Acts as senior escalation point for troubleshooting and resolution.

- Ensures secure-by-design configurations.
- Maintains resilience, monitoring, and incident readiness.

Roadmap Execution
- Delivers roadmap initiatives for platform improvement.
- Coordinates planning and execution of changes.

Cross-Domain Collaboration
- Works with Architecture, Security, Development, and Infrastructure teams.
- Oversees testing, deployment, and full operation of solutions.

Vendor & Technology Engagement
- Supports vendor relationship management.
- Contributes to platform and operational improvements.

Operational Governance & Support
- Maintains compliance with standards and lifecycle management.
- Supports ITIL-based processes (Incident, Problem, Continuous Improvement).

Automation, Standardisation & Optimisation
- Designs and deploys automation-first solutions.
- Reduces technical debt, manual effort, and operational complexity.
Operational Support
- On-call coverage for priority incident support.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience & Expertise:
- Extensive experience in cloud, Microsoft 365, and identity platform engineering.
- Strong proficiency in:
- Configuring and administering Microsoft 365 security and productivity solutions.
- Engineering Azure (depletments, governance, connectivity).
- Supporting GCP (projects, networking, security, operations).
- Managing identity platforms (active directory, Entra ID, authentication, privilege access).
- Implementing cloud security and compliance standards.
- Deploying automation (PowerShell scripting, IaC/CiCd tools).
