Role Description
The Specialist IVF and Infertility Consultant will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients experiencing fertility challenges, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Conducting consultations
- Reviewing medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Advising on appropriate IVF and assisted reproductive technologies
- Performing or overseeing relevant procedures in accordance with clinic protocols

The consultant will counsel patients on treatment options, risks, and expected outcomes, ensuring clear, empathetic communication and informed decision-making. Additional duties include:

- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Participating in multidisciplinary case discussions
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives
- Supporting training or supervision of junior medical staff where appropriate
This is a part-time, on-site role based in London, requiring regular presence at the clinic and active collaboration with the wider medical, CQC Team, and nursing team. Support will be provided from the team and directors.
Qualifications
- Advanced training and experience in reproductive medicine, infertility management, and IVF, including competence in assessing complex fertility cases and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Medical degree with full registration and license to practice (e.g., GMC registration), with relevant postgraduate qualifications or board certification in obstetrics and gynecology or reproductive endocrinology.
- Demonstrated ability to perform or supervise fertility-related procedures and interpret diagnostic investigations such as hormonal profiles, ultrasound scans, and semen analysis.
- Strong skills in patient communication, counseling, and shared decision-making, with the ability to support individuals and couples through emotionally challenging situations.
- Proven experience working in a multidisciplinary clinical environment, collaborating effectively with nursing staff, embryologists, and other specialists.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and continuous professional development, including staying current with advances in IVF and reproductive technologies.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in clinical documentation and adherence to regulatory and ethical standards.
- Experience in a private clinic or specialized fertility center is desirable; additional training or certification in reproductive medicine or related subspecialties is an advantage.
