Senior Specialist Mental Health Pharmacist
The Pharmacy Department is seeking to recruit a Senior Specialist Mental Health Pharmacist to join our friendly, patient-centred team within the Mental Health Urgent Treatment Care Services.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated mental health pharmacist to join a dynamic and innovative team committed to delivering and advancing high-quality clinical pharmacy services across the Trust. The post holder will work closely with the Site Lead Pharmacist for Maudsley Hospital to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of Trust-wide quality improvement initiatives and specialist pharmacy services.
We are looking for an individual with a passion for mental health care, strong clinical expertise, and proven leadership skills. The role will focus on improving patient outcomes through effective medicines optimisation, enhancing communication across multidisciplinary teams, and supporting initiatives that help prevent avoidable hospital admissions related to both mental and physical health conditions.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to support and shape prescribing and medicines-related practice. They will be confident in collecting, analysing, and presenting data to inform service development, engage stakeholders, and contribute effectively to Trust meetings and service improvement discussions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
