Specialist - Network and Premise Inventory
We’re looking for a Specialist - Network and Premise Inventory to join us in Bradford.
Role Overview
The Specialist - Network & Premise Inventory is the functional expert for Network and Premise Inventory services, providing specialist support to both operational delivery and service development activities. The role ensures inventory processes, controls and data standards meet customer and business requirements, while supporting service enhancements, resolving complex operational issues and driving consistency across the function. Through coaching and knowledge sharing, the Specialist helps build capability and embed best practice across the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Expertise
- Act as the subject matter expert for Network Inventory and Premise Inventory services
- Maintain inventory standards, process documentation and governance controls
- Interpret and validate technical network documentation, including Straight Line Drawings (SLDs), Fibre Allocation Sheets (FAS) and PON test results, to support accurate inventory updates and service readiness
- Provide technical guidance on complex inventory scenarios and data issues
- Support the interpretation and application of customer requirements and industry standards.
Quality & Data Integrity
- Support the Senior Operations Manager with operational performance and service improvements
- Act as the escalation point for complex inventory and data-related issues. Support prioritisation and resolution of operational challenges
- Conduct analysis of service issues and recommend corrective actions.
Capability Development
- Coach and mentor operational teams on inventory processes and standards. Support training and knowledge transfer activities.
- Develop operational guidance and best practice materials
- Enhance technical expertise across the wider team.

Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes, controls and reporting
- Support implementation of new customer requirements and system enhancements.
- Work with Operational Optimisation and Technology teams to improve service effectiveness.
Service Development & Customer Support
- Act as the functional SME for service development initiatives within their area of expertise.
- Support the Senior Operations Manager in evaluating new customer requirements, service enhancements and operational opportunities.
- Provide subject matter expertise during customer workshops, discovery activities and service design discussions.
- Contribute to the development of new service offerings, operating models and customer solutions.
- Support the implementation and embedding of new customer requirements, capabilities and ways of working.
- Assist in the creation of business cases, process documentation, training materials and operational readiness plans.
- Provide insight into operational impacts, risks, dependencies and resource requirements associated with proposed service changes.
- Collaborate with Operational Optimisation, Technology and Customer Delivery teams to ensure solutions are practical, scalable and operationally sustainable.
Essential Skills & Abilities
- Significant experience within Network Inventory, Premise Inventory or asset data management
- Strong understanding of inventory governance and control frameworks. Experience supporting operational teams as a technical specialist.
- Strong analytical and investigation skills.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply technical network documentation, including SLDs, Fibre Allocation Sheets and PON test results.
- Experience operating within KPI and SLA-driven environments.
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).

Desirable Skills & Abilities
- Experience within telecommunications, utilities, network operations or infrastructure services.
- Experience working with inventory management systems, asset records or address data.
- Understanding of network inventory, premise inventory or data governance principles.
- Lean Six Sigma or equivalent continuous improvement training.
