SPECIALIST NEURO SLT - PAEDIATRIC

Part time 3 days a week (22.5 hours) - with a view to possibly increasing to full time -

Permanent Contract £19,500 - £24,300 per annum

Due to the expansion of the Company an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our paediatric team of Speech and Language Therapists at JAS Speech Neuro operating in the Manchester Area.

JAS Speech Neuro is a well established private Speech and Language Therapy Company operating in the North of England. The Company has been operating for over 20 years, providing Specialist Speech and Language provision in the field of Acquired Brain Injury to both children and adults. We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of specialist input to children and adults as part of a medico-legal claim.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • You will provide high quality, evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to children with brain injuries including cerebral palsy within a multidisciplinary and multi-agency setting.

  • Undertaking liaison with other relevant professionals as part of a medico-legal claim along with attending multidisciplinary meetings and contributing to EHCP discussions and provision.

  • Work within a wide range of settings including homes, schools, colleges and community life.

  • Devise individual Speech and Language Therapy programmes tailored to fit within the child’s daily life. These should be regularly evaluated and adjusted appropriately.

  • Training of education and care staff regarding Speech and Language Therapy needs.

  • Independent diary management and completion of electronic time sheets and expenses (training will be given).

  • Attend regular staff meetings and contribute to clinical discussions.

You will need to:

  • Have knowledge of appropriate evidence based paediatric assessments and treatment approaches.

  • Have at least 1 years’ experience as a fully qualified Speech and Language Therapist.

  • Ideally have a dysphagia qualification.

  • Be able to work as an autonomous practitioner, managing your own caseload, as well as being able to work as part of a team.

  • Hold a clean UK driving licence.

  • Be able to use up-to-date technology (Microsoft/Apple) at a basic level.

  • Have a basic knowledge of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC).
