Mission Statement & Summary

As a Specialist in New lending Credit Strategy at NewDay, you’ll play a key role in shaping and optimising credit risk strategies for new customer acquisition, with a primary focus on NewDay’s embedded finance portfolios.

You’ll use data, analysis and commercial insight to help develop and refine credit strategies, assess performance and support sustainable business growth while delivering positive customer outcomes.

How You'll Contribute

  • Monitor and continuously optimise the newly launched ArgosPay credit strategy, working with the wider acquisition team to ensure risk performance and key metrics meet agreed targets.
  • Enhance analysis and reporting, identifying emerging trends and translating insights into clear, data-led actions.
  • Support product launches and portfolio migrations, providing risk insight, performance analysis and recommendations throughout the process.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of innovative credit strategies for the AO product, using new features such as upfront payments and basket-level data to enhance decisioning.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, using your analysis and expertise to influence decisions and support the wider New Lending team.
  • Take ownership of your work and contribute to a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues where appropriate.

We're Looking for These Essential Skills

  • Proficient use of SQL for data analysis and strategy development.
  • Experience within financial services, with knowledge of consumer credit products and a background in risk and/or analytics.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, delivering high-quality work independently and to agreed deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to generate insights, identify trends and communicate findings clearly to a range of stakeholders.

It’s a Plus If You Also Have These Skills

  • Experience developing credit risk strategies, including policies and controls governing new customer lending.
  • Experience in embedded finance or a business development environment.
  • Familiarity with visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis.
  • A working understanding of decisioning systems such as Provenir.
