Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join NHS Tayside’s Hyper acute Stroke Unit at Ninewells Hospital as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist.

About the Role

You will work within a fast-paced, specialist acute stroke service, providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention to patients in the hyper acute and acute phases following stroke. The role is central to supporting early rehabilitation, complex discharge planning, and recovery-focused care in close collaboration with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.

  • Manage a complex caseload
  • Deliver timely specialist assessments that address functional ability, cognition, perception, and environmental factors to support safe patient flow through the stroke pathway
  • Utilize strong clinical reasoning and the ability to make rapid, well-informed decisions within a dynamic environment
  • Adopt a person-centered approach to care

Requirements

This role is suitable for an experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapist seeking to develop specialist stroke skills or a current Band 6 Occupational Therapist looking to further their expertise within a hyperacute setting.
