Specialist Occupational Therapist
Stroke and Neurology In-patients
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work as part of the stroke occupational therapy service who are a well established, supportive multidisciplinary team. The team is lead by our advanced Occupational Therapist who works as part of the team on the unit. The team is based on the ward and the successful candidate will be part of close knit MDT including physiotherapists, speech therapists, nursing and medical staff.
There is an expectation that staff will volunteer to assist covering the stroke unit over bank holiday weekends and possibly across a 7 day service should this be funded in the future.
As a specialist we are looking for applicants who are passionate about stroke and neurological rehabilitation and possess relevant experience in cognitive and physical rehabilitation in Occupational Therapy.
Applicants will be HCPC registered and have a min of 18 months post graduate experience, have a valid work permit and previous experience in the NHS. Evidence of post-graduate training in rehabilitation and / or stroke and on-going personal CPD is desired. Prior experience of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency work with complex cases is not essential but is desirable.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
