Come and join our Band 6 Occupational Therapy neuro rotation!

This is a full time, permanent post. The rotation offers an exciting range of clinical areas to gain a broad range of experience and learn new skills. The rotation includes in patient stroke rehabilitation, regional specialist neurology and neurosurgical wards, neuro out patient rehabilitation, Reablement team, and the National Rehabilitation Centre. This post provides the opportunity to have a positive impact on people's lives through being part of their rehabilitation journey. You will be well supported by teams of experienced and knowledgeable clinicians.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent core occupational therapy clinical skills
  • Previous experience in stroke/neuro
  • A wide range of clinical experience through other specialities
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

You will receive support and training opportunities for you to develop in this role to reach your full potential. This will include peer and senior support, regular supervision (1:1 and group), in-house and external training, as well as varied opportunities to engage in wider learning experiences.

In this role you will provide occupational therapy for a caseload of patients requiring neurological rehabilitation. You will work creatively and collaboratively with the MDT, patients and their families, as well as external agencies. You will work with the occupational therapy and wider multidisciplinary team to ensure effective service delivery, supporting staff and actively developing the service.

There will be a requirement to contribute to planned weekend and bank holiday rotas.

The successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work flexibly to support the needs of the service as well as other services in the neuro pathway. Candidates will need to hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle in order to be able to complete community/domiciliary visits within the out patient and Reablement teams.
