Highly Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist
Ribble Valley Children's Physiotherapy - Skipton, North Yorkshire, Permanent, Employed Position | NHS Band 7 Equivalent | Flexible Hours Available
An exciting opportunity has become available to join Ribble Valley Children's Physiotherapy (RVCP) on a permanent contract. We are looking to appoint a Highly Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist (NHS Band 7 equivalent) to work alongside our Director and Lead Paediatric Physiotherapist at our Skipton.

About the role
Our physiotherapy service delivers specialist care to children and young people aged 0-18 years, across a wide variety of conditions including musculoskeletal, developmental, congenital and neurological presentations. At RVCP we create the time and space to deliver the care every child or young person needs, with a minimum one hour follow up appointment and flexible treatment schedules. You will have the freedom to complete thorough assessments, hold unhurried two way discussions with parents, and design bespoke treatment programmes that genuinely meet each family's needs.
Your caseload will span on-site clinic appointments, home visits, and visits to schools, nurseries and sporting facilities. This is an outpatient role where you will work independently for much of your clinical time, with regular supervision, appraisal and support from the Clinical Lead.

This post will suit an experienced, confident and autonomous clinician who can hit the ground running. Because we are a small, fast growing team, you will need to manage your own caseload independently from an early stage, without close day to day oversight. We are looking for somebody who:
- Has at least 3-5 years post-graduate experience in Paediatric Physiotherapy and can demonstrate highly developed assessment and treatment skills across MSK, neurological and developmental conditions
- Works independently and confidently, managing clinical risk within their own caseload
- Is hard working, self-motivated and thrives in a busy outpatient setting
- Genuinely loves working with children and brings bags of energy to every session. If you have "party entertainer" vibes, are naturally bubbly and outgoing, and can turn therapy into fun, this is the spot for you!
- Is enthusiastic about service development and wants to contribute ideas, projects and improvements as the practice grows
- Is keen to use AI systems and digital tools to work smarter, improve efficiency and enhance patient care
- Has exceptional verbal and written communication skills with children and adults alike
- Wants to grow with the company, with potential leadership and promotion opportunities available as the team expands

Please note: this is not a post for somebody who prefers close supervision or a slower pace. You will be representing the RVCP brand and will be responsible for at least 50% of our clinical case management in the initial stages, so we need somebody who takes real ownership of their work.
Training and development

- Functional Electrical Stimulation (E-stim) training
- Reflex integration training
- Hypervibe whole body vibration plate training
- An annual training allowance and a bespoke professional development plan built around your interests and career goals
- Regular clinical supervision with the Clinical Lead in conjunction with your appraisal
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate highly developed skills in assessment and treatment for patients with a wide variety of paediatric conditions and diverse presentations, interpreting and analysing clinical and non-clinical information to form accurate diagnoses
- Create tailored treatment plans that address each child's limitations, taking into account their age, abilities and other medical and physical factors
- Continually re-assess patients to progress treatment programmes and modalities effectively
- Manage clinical risk within your own caseload, working autonomously with guidance from leadership as required
- Co-ordinate interventions and work closely with other disciplines; advise and educate patients, carers, relatives and other health professionals
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with children and adults alike, ensuring full understanding of the treatment being received
- Maintain accurate and timely written records using the electronic health record system in line with RVCP policies, use computerised data collection to analyse clinical efficacy, complete clinic and discharge reports to medical referrers where required, and support with invoicing to clients
- Embrace AI systems and digital tools used within the practice to streamline documentation, communication and service delivery
- Contribute to service development, evidence based practice and clinical effectiveness, including the completion of projects and research
- Contribute towards our growing social media content and support marketing strategies to increase and improve content value for our followers and clients
- Meet and liaise with other health professionals and commissioners as directed, with the purpose of marketing the service or planning its future development
- Contribute towards policy development to ensure quality standards and effectiveness of patient care
- Supervise, teach and appraise junior staff, physiotherapy assistants and physiotherapy students on placement as the team grows
- Represent the RVCP brand with professional conduct and outstanding patient care at all times, in line with HCPC standards

Qualifications and requirements
- Physiotherapy degree (BSc Hons) and current HCPC registration
- CSP membership
- Minimum 3-5 years post-graduate experience in Paediatric Physiotherapy
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Enhanced DBS disclosure (required)
- Full driving licence with access to own car for work purposes
- Right to work in the UK
