The Role
We are excited to be advertising a permanent Band 6 Community Paediatric Physiotherapist post (18 hours per week). This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Community Child Health Physiotherapy team providing specialist assessment, treatment and management for children and young people with a wide range of developmental, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions across West Dunbartonshire.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) may be able to provide visa sponsorship for certain roles, subject to the post meeting the relevant eligibility criteria. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Permanent Role
- The Acron Centre, The Vale of Leven Hospital
- 18 Hours per week - Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities
- You will provide comprehensive specialist assessment, treatment and management for children and young people with complex developmental, neurological, musculoskeletal and movement-related conditions.
- Working autonomously across community settings, you will coordinate interventions, support children and families to achieve therapeutic goals, and work closely with educational staff and multidisciplinary colleagues to develop integrated care plans.
- The role includes acting as a specialist resource and advisor, delivering education and training to carers, healthcare professionals and students, contributing to service development, participating in evidence-based practice initiatives, and supporting the supervision of students and rotational staff members.
- You will be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your practice, manage clinical risk within your caseload, make appropriate referrals to other health disciplines, and contribute to board-wide care programmes to ensure high standards of patient care across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to Do the Job
- Degree in Physiotherapy.
- Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration.
- Expected to be working towards Master's level postgraduate qualifications.
- Highly competent in assessing a wide range of paediatric conditions based on advanced theoretical knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, often where conflicting evidence is present.
- Relevant post-registration experience.
- Advanced knowledge and experience of a wide range of approaches to the management of paediatric conditions.
- Advanced knowledge of normal childhood development.
- Advanced knowledge of complex neurodevelopmental conditions, paediatric syndromes and paediatric respiratory conditions.
- Experience of service development, both in design and application.
- Good working knowledge of all areas of clinical governance, including quality improvement, audit and risk management.
- Good understanding of statistics and their evaluation.
- Specialist expertise within a clinical area with well-developed clinical reasoning skills.
- Highly developed ability to motivate and communicate with children and young people of all ages and abilities, including those who are unable to communicate verbally or who have learning disabilities.
- Experience within a community physiotherapy setting is desirable.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
