We have an exciting opportunity to join our innovative Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatient team as a permanent full time (37.5hrs) Specialist Physiotherapist (Band 6).

You should be forward thinking, dynamic and have the desire to develop and improve your skills and the MSK service. A positive team-working attitude is essential for this role. There may be a requirement to work on the Orthopaedic weekend rota.

The MSK team currently provides an outpatient service at Peterborough City (PCH) and Stamford Hospitals, as well as an Occupational Health Service at PCH and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals. The teams are responsible for providing a high-quality service to patients referred predominantly from A&E, trauma / elective orthopaedic wards and orthopaedic and rheumatology consultants.

To join our team it is essential that you have experience working in an MSK Outpatient environment and in the NHS. It would also be desirable to have experience of working at a senior level incorporating some line management. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical, teaching and managerial skills and be actively involved in service development.

Interviews for this role will be conducted in person to assess relevant skills effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • To Demonstrate Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Skills To Manage patients referred to the service working in accordance with individual performance metrics.
  • To ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery of patient focussed care in line with identified evidence based practice, local and national standards.
  • To work collaboratively within Multidisciplinary and Multi-agency Teams.
  • To participate in delegated projects for service development with the team.
  • To act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have a complex presentation.
  • To demonstrate a flexible approach to working in support of the whole in patient/outpatient team.
  • To undertake weekend working as required within the orthopaedic service.
  • To be available to provide Clinical Supervision.
  • This role entails 90% Clinical Contact and 10% Operational Management as appropriate within team requirements.
  • To guide Band 5 and support staff in the management and delivery of therapeutic care plans.
