Job Overview
This is a fixed-term Specialist Podiatrist post from 1 September 2026 to 26 February 2027. The post holder will support the Podiatry Department in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while demonstrating the Trust's values in their day-to-day practice. Working collaboratively with colleagues, patients and carers, the post holder will contribute to the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate podiatry services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a high-quality specialist podiatry service, delivering evidence-based assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients with a range of foot health needs, including those requiring high-risk podiatry care. Working within professional standards, clinical guidelines and agreed care pathways, the post holder will deliver care across community clinics, patients' homes and Queen's Hospital, primarily serving the East locality (Havering and Barking & Dagenham).
The role includes supporting the development of the Foot Protection Team, contributing to the management of patients with diabetes in the community through the development of policies, procedures and evidence-based practice. The post holder will also provide education and training to patients, carers and other healthcare professionals to promote foot health, self-management and falls prevention.
Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will liaise effectively with colleagues across health and social care services to ensure safe, integrated and patient-centred care.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest, Goodmayes)
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,870 to a maximum of £6,137 p.a. pro rata for part time).
