About the role

At Adecco, we are proud to partner with the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) in providing critical recruitment services for the UK’s Armed Forces. This innovative approach will, for the first time, see the Royal Navy, the British Army, and the Royal Air Force have a joint Armed Forces Recruitment Service (AFRS). Delivered through a partnership of the MOD, Serco, Adecco and a consortium of partners, this service will provide end-to-end support from candidate attraction to assessment, onboarding, and Phase 1 training.

Join us as a Specialist Recruiter in Direct Sourcing identifying and engaging top-tier talent to meet client needs with a focus on hiring into qualified specialist roles for the Armed Forces. You will work as part of a team aligned to specialist areas which include Medical, Technology (Cyber) and Engineering.

Reporting into our Direct Sourcing Lead, you’ll use expert sourcing strategies and candidate outreach techniques including job boards, social media platforms, community, professional networks, and events, to identify talent who align with client requirements including inclusive hiring.

You’ll also nurture relationships with professional bodies, universities, training providers, membership organisations and other relevant networks.

This role requires a proactive and innovative approach to sourcing, as well as excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

This is a hybrid working role, enjoy a combination of home working with regular meetings at our offices in Bristol for team, client, partner, engagement, and other moments that matter.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand the requirements of talent demand and open positions.
  • Develop and implement an effective sourcing approach to identify potential candidates.
  • Utilise advanced search techniques such as data mining and talent research to find qualified candidates within the agreed SLA timescales and KPIs.
  • Attend relevant Industry community and careers events to engage with and generate talent pools.
  • Conduct market mapping and intelligence exercises.
  • Creation and management of “talent pools” for future roles.
  • Engage with passive candidates and build relationships.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of candidate interactions and progress in Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring compliance with GDPR.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on sourcing activities and candidate pipeline to key stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in sourcing and recruitment.

About you

Essential

  • Experience of Direct Sourcing within Medical, Engineering or Cyber markets (ideally In-House, RPO or MSP, we would also consider Agency/Search).
  • Experience and expertise in using advanced search techniques.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective professional relationships.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with handling highly sensitive/confidential information.
  • Experience using market research tools and techniques.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to changing sourcing technology and industry trends.
  • Advanced proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) including talent pooling.

Desirable

  • Experience of Direct Sourcing within the Security or Defence sector.
