About the Role

As a Specialist, Relief & Exemption, you’ll play a critical role in identifying potential opportunities for rate reductions and refunds on commercial properties. Using digital research and data analysis, you’ll investigate property occupation, assess eligibility, and compile compelling case files for our sales team to engage clients with precision and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Development & Research
    • Conduct extensive online research to assess the eligibility of business premises for rate reductions, reliefs, or rebates
    • Investigate occupancy status and build profiles of current and historic occupants across sectors (retail, industrial, office)
    • Compile comprehensive, accurate case files that allow the sales team to approach prospects with informed, high-quality insights

  • Data Handling & Reporting
    • Input, interpret, and manipulate property and business data using Excel and internal tools
    • Maintain clean, organised records of research findings, source trails, and case status updates
    • Spot patterns, inconsistencies, or indicators of potential recovery opportunities

  • Strong numeracy - comfortable working with figures, property valuations, and rate-related data
  • High accuracy and attention to detail - critical when validating property and business information
  • Excel fluency - including filters, lookups, basic formulas, and data validation
  • Proven focus and concentration - able to deep-dive into research without losing precision
  • Fast learner - able to pick up regulatory concepts and apply them in context
  • Confident working independently and managing your own workflow
  • Strong communication skills - particularly in sharing clear, concise case summaries with internal teams
