The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Renal Dietitian to provide expert nutritional care for patients across a highly specialised renal service based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work with patients with complex renal conditions, including those receiving dialysis, transplant recipients and individuals requiring advanced nutritional support. You will be supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team while developing your specialist clinical, leadership and service development skills. It is essential that you have a BSc Human Nutrition & Dietetics OR Post-Graduate Diploma in Dietetic Practice OR equivalent Master’s level qualification and registered with HCPC. The post requires PVG Scheme Membership / Disclosure Scotland Check.

Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be determined on a case-by-case basis following interview and during the pre-employment verification process. - Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
- Permanent, part-time
- Monday to Friday
- Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and manage the nutritional needs of patients with complex renal conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Develop, implement and review evidence-based nutritional care plans to support optimal patient outcomes
- Provide specialist advice and education to patients, carers and healthcare professionals
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality coordinated care
- Contribute to clinical audit, service evaluation and quality improvement activities within the renal service
- Support the education, clinical supervision and assessment of student dietitians and colleagues
- Participate in the development of policies, guidelines and service improvements to enhance renal dietetic practice

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
- BSc Human Nutrition and Dietetics or Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetic Practice or equivalent Master's level qualification
- Registered Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to specialist dietetic practice
- Post-qualification experience within a specialist clinical setting, ideally working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience delivering and managing complex nutritional support and dietetic interventions
- Knowledge and experience of audit, service evaluation and implementing improvements to practice
- Excellent communication, counselling, leadership and IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office applications and clinical systems
