About the Company

Join one of the world's leading financial services organisations, supporting clients across global markets through market-leading custody, clearing, wealth and asset servicing solutions.

BNY operates at the heart of the global financial system, providing technology-enabled investment services to wealth managers, financial advisers, broker-dealers and institutional clients across global markets.

The Manchester Wealth Services Operations team plays a critical role in supporting investment processing, shareholder services, settlement, tax and regulatory activities for clients across the UK, Ireland and international markets.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist, Shareholder Services to join BNY's Wealth Services Operations team in Manchester.

This role sits within a specialist operational function responsible for the accurate processing, investigation and reconciliation of transaction taxes and shareholder-related activities across the investment lifecycle.

You will play an important role in ensuring accurate treatment of SDRT, UK and Irish Stamp Duty and Financial Transaction Taxes, while supporting regulatory requirements, client servicing and operational controls.

The role will involve working closely with internal operations teams, clients, custodians, central securities depositories and regulatory stakeholders to investigate exceptions, process payments and reclaims, and ensure transactions are completed accurately and within required deadlines.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop specialist expertise within a global financial institution while gaining exposure to securities processing, transaction taxes, regulatory operations and client service.

Iโ€™m in my final year doing Economics and I donโ€™t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer โ€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donโ€™t need a masters. Letโ€™s look at the ones youโ€™d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet โ€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
