SLT Service Opportunity
We are excited to offer an opportunity to join the SLT service within Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust. We work with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disability in inpatient and community services. We are seeking a full time (permanent) Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our Adult Community Integrated Team with a mixed communication and Dysphagia caseload.
About the Role
The SLT services support a variety of speech, language and communication and/or dysphagia needs, covering community and specialist settings across the city and county for adults with physical, mental health needs or developmental conditions/delay including Intellectual Disability and Developmental Language Disorder.
The SLT services also include preventative information and guidance, working to empower parents, carers, other professionals and agencies to support speech, language and communication skills as well as eating and drinking.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and Assessment: Provide specialist SLT assessment, formulation and diagnosis, requiring advanced clinical reasoning, critical thinking, reflection and interpretation and analysis, and subsequent therapy/management programmes within the designated specialism/setting/district.
- Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues from a range of disciplines, contributing to a multi-disciplinary service supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in settings across Bassetlaw and West Nottinghamshire.
- Strategic Development: Support senior colleagues around strategic developments within their specialism/setting/district in liaison with their line manager.
- Training and Mentorship: Support senior colleagues in the development and delivery of training and professional mentorship in their specialism/setting/district.
