Eligibility Criteria

  • Completion of the relevant National Autistic Society (NAS) training modules
  • Training costs approximately GBP180 per hour
  • Successful completion is necessary prior to commencing the role

About the Role

Randstad Student Support are recruiting for Specialist:one:to:one Study Skills Support Workers to work with autistic students studying in Universities within Dorset.

Responsibilities

As a Specialist:one:to:one Study Skills Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide learning support and academic guidance
  • Create an individual learning plan tailored to the student's needs
  • Encourage the student to become an independent learner
  • Support students to:
    • Develop independence
    • Build on strengths and learning strategies
    • Create strategies around organisation and time management
    • Create action plans to stay on track with studies
    • Build on research skills by widening knowledge using a variety of sources
    • Distinguish appropriate sources and correctly use references
    • Build on comprehension skills in reading and writing
