Do you have experience teaching pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dynamic and skilled teacher to join our successful and growing team.

The successful candidate will have recent classroom teaching experience and a proven ability to improve outcomes for vulnerable pupils through high-quality, inclusive teaching. You will also have experience supporting colleagues to develop their practice and promote positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

• This post is offered initially as a one-year fixed-term contract, providing an exciting opportunity to join a recently established service that works across both primary and secondary schools.
• We are a dynamic, forward-thinking SEND support service committed to promoting inclusion, innovation and the best possible outcomes for pupils with SEND. We place a strong emphasis on professional development, reflective practice and challenging discrimination in all its forms.
• This is an exciting time to join the service. You will play a key role in supporting schools through the “expert at hand” model outlined in the SEND reforms, helping schools build capacity and confidence in meeting the needs of pupils with SEMH. Experience in developing and delivering whole-school approaches to inclusion would be highly advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. You will work collaboratively with school staff, parents and carers, often in complex situations, to strengthen inclusive practice and improve outcomes for children and young people. A good understanding of multi-agency working is therefore crucial.
• You will also have a strong understanding of developmental trauma and experience of supporting professionals to meet these needs through creative, flexible and evidence-informed approaches.
• We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with recent experience of teaching and supporting boys with SEND and SEMH needs. Experience in secondary settings would be an advantage; however, applications from candidates with primary experience will also be considered.
• Our ideal candidate will have undertaken additional professional training, which may include a postgraduate qualification or specialist certification. This may include training and expertise in developmental trauma, coaching and mentoring, restorative approaches, reflective practice, professional supervision, or other related SEND, inclusion and SEMH specialisms.
