Role Description:

As an Alternative Provision Specialist Tutor, you will provide engaging and personalised educational support to children and young people who may have experienced barriers to learning or difficulties engaging successfully with mainstream education.

Location:

We are looking for Alternative Provision Specialist Tutors in; Coventry, Nuneaton, Birmingham, and Gloucester.

Qualifications:

  • Strong teaching, tutoring, or mentoring skills, with experience supporting children and young people in Alternative Provision or similar settings.
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and assess individualized learning, including differentiation for varied abilities and needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, behavior support, and trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches to working with learners.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals.
  • Relevant teaching or education-related qualification (e.g., QTS, FE teaching qualification, HLTA, or equivalent experience); experience with SEND is highly beneficial.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a values-driven approach, with a commitment to safer provision and improving outcomes for learners.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation, follow organizational policies, and engage in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Be willing to undertake the full Agency+ AP Ready recruitment, training, and assessment process.
