Full Time Speciality Doctor in Ophthalmology at Queen Victoria Hospital
We are looking for a full-time Speciality Doctor working within the Ophthalmology Department at Queen Victoria Hospital. This is an exciting role supporting 7 consultants and 6 fellows in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role
The postholder will be part of the senior clinical team with a priority on the delivery of the service. Whilst you will take responsibility for your own training and development, the Trust will offer you opportunities to further your knowledge and skills and you will be assigned an Educational Supervisor. You will work in accordance with the GMC Good Medical Practice and Trust policies and engage in revalidation and appraisal.
Responsibilities
- Provide extensive clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of anterior segment disease (Corneal/External diseases and Refractive) and General Ophthalmology including Oculoplastics and Glaucoma.
- Participate in the diagnosis, management, and follow-up of patients with all types of anterior segment diseases primarily but also provide frontline General Ophthalmology and Oculoplastic service assistance.
- Provide unsupervised cataract and cross-linking surgery to a competent level.

Requirements
Applicants should have completed their specialty training in Ophthalmology and fulfil all the competencies of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Specialty Training Curriculum in this respect.
