About the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit (SRU)
The Stroke Rehabilitation Unit (SRU) is a purpose-built, 21-bed specialist facility dedicated to helping patients recover lost skills and regain independence following a stroke. At the heart of SRU is a robust MDT where specialist doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists, rehabilitation and nursing assistants work in close collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Responsible, as part of a team, for the day-to-day management of patients on our Ward 4 Stroke Rehabilitation Unit based at the Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and in outpatient services for Stroke Rehabilitation Medicine patients.
- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients within the Stroke Rehabilitation Medicine service.
- Leadership to junior staff.
- Shared role in delivery of teaching and training.
- Active participation in quality improvement, audit and research activities of these services.
- Keeping up to date and participating in continuing professional development.
- Participation in annual appraisals.
