Acute Dental Care Department

The Acute Dental Care Department at the Dental Hospital operates a ten-chair clinical facility located on the ground floor. The department is part of the Trust’s Dental Care Group, which works in close partnership with the King’s College London School of Dentistry across its Denmark Hill and London Bridge sites.

This post plays an important role in strengthening Acute Dental Care by supporting the delivery of high-quality clinical services, inclusive and accessible teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and clinically focused research activity.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assessment, diagnosis, and management of individuals requiring urgent dental care
  • Arranging timely referrals for those who need specialist treatment within the Dental Hospital
  • Providing supportive, constructive clinical supervision to undergraduate dental students and junior colleagues
  • Collaborating with the Oral Surgery Department and teams within the Restorative disciplines to ensure coordinated, person-centred care

Patient Management

The department manages a high volume of patients, with many referrals coming through the NHS 111 Dental Triage service. Additional referrals are received from other hospitals, general dental and medical practitioners, internal hospital teams, and specialist departments within the Dental Hospital.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
