About the Job
Specialty Doctor - Adult Psychiatry - First Response Service
Location: Warrington
Start Date: ASAP - 06/11/26
Schedule: Full time - on site - Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
About First Response
The First Response team are based across the Mersey Care geographical footprint and operate 24/7, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. The teams are based at Clock View Hospital and Hollins Park hospital and operate a hub and spoke approach. The service provides a 24/7 telephone mental health crisis line (0800 145 6570/0800 051 1508), urgent assessments and short term follow up with structured psychological interventions. The service takes urgent referrals from the following:
- Self-Referral (all age)
- Triage and signpost away for A&E settings
- All professionals including NHS111
- Friends, family and concerned others
All services requesting urgent/emergency mental health assessment will take a proactive approach and contact the First Response service to discuss the clinical presentation and agree an appropriate plan thereby supporting and developing FRS emergency care pathways that divert individuals away from AEDS. In addition to this, pathway will allow self-referrals via the FRS and families/carers etc to contact the FRS on behalf of a service user.

The First Response service will ensure any callers to the crisis line receive an efficient and timely response when accessing the 24/7 mental health crisis line which may result in assessment, support advice or follow up.
Essential Requirements
- Valid GMC Registration with full Licence to Practice
- Right to Work in the UK
- Minimum 6 months of medical experience in this role or a similar role within the UK
- Section 12 Essential
