Specialty Doctor in Community Paediatrics

This is an exciting opportunity to join Community Paediatrics at Kaleidoscope, Lewisham, at a time of change and transformation. You will be part of an integrated, multidisciplinary service working closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists and Allied Health Professionals supporting children and young people with developmental, neurodevelopmental, complex health and safeguarding needs. The role offers the chance to work alongside experienced colleagues, develop specialist community paediatric skills, and contribute to service redesign, quality improvement and more joined-up models of care. Kaleidoscope is an award-winning centre for children and young people in the heart of Lewisham, bringing together community paediatrics, therapies, nursing, mental health, education and social care services for children aged 0–19. Our integrated, multidisciplinary model enables families to access coordinated support from multiple professionals in one place, reducing the need for appointments across different sites.

The post holder will work as a Specialty Doctor within Community Paediatrics at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, integrated care for children and young people across community settings, including Kaleidoscope.

The role encompasses the assessment, diagnosis and ongoing management of children and young people with developmental disorders, neurodevelopmental conditions, complex health needs, and safeguarding concerns. The post holder will work within a multidisciplinary and multiagency environment, contributing to holistic care planning alongside health, education and social care partners.

The post holder will participate in clinical and service activities to ensure a high standard of patient care, with opportunities to develop specialist skills within community paediatrics. They will provide care under appropriate consultant supervision while developing increasing clinical autonomy, and will contribute to service development, quality improvement and integrated models of care across the Trust.
