We are seeking motivated and patient-focused Specialty Doctors to become part of our Emergency Medicine team. Based in the heart of Pembrokeshire, Withybush General Hospital is a modern District General Hospital with 195 inpatient beds, serving a close-knit community while providing the breadth and variety of cases expected within a busy Emergency Department.

As a Specialty Doctor within Emergency Medicine, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective and compassionate care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions.

The Emergency Department includes four resuscitation bays, dedicated treatment rooms, a plaster room and on-site imaging facilities, providing immediate access to medical and surgical assessment, treatment and ongoing care. The department serves the population of Pembrokeshire and neighbouring areas of Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion, offering diverse clinical experience within a supportive and patient-centred environment.

Working alongside multidisciplinary colleagues, you will contribute to the assessment, diagnosis and management of patients across the emergency care pathway while helping to maintain high standards of clinical practice and patient experience.

We are looking for doctors who are enthusiastic about delivering excellent emergency care, committed to continuous improvement and keen to contribute to a positive team culture. We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.

We work in partnership the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.

Our Services Are Provided In

  • Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest.
  • Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire.
  • Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings.
  • 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers.
