About the Role
This role will be supported by a £12,000 relocation allowance
‘Holiday of a lifetime scheme’: Consultants and SAS doctors can bank/accrue annual leave over a period of up to 5 years, to facilitate an extended period of leave. The scheme enables the opportunity for planning a ‘holiday of a lifetime’ or extended paid break
The Trust is seeking a specialty doctor to join our Forensic Community Team service based in Norwich. The role offers the opportunity to provide specialised psychiatric care to patients with mental disorders who have offended to pose a high risk of harm.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with discharge of patients from secure and in-patient care.
- Facilitating step-down care from medium or low secure units.
- Supporting patients with severe mental illnesses living in the community.
- Preventing hospital readmission.
- Providing critical psychiatric care to mentally disordered offenders.
- Leading risk assessments.
- Managing caseloads.
- Preventing relapses.
- Coordinating with multi-agency teams, including probation and police, to safely integrate patients into society and prevent reoffending.

Secure and Forensic Services for NSFT are rated as Good by the CQC. We provide a wide and growing body of clinical services operating in a variety of settings linked to criminal justice services.
Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.
