About the Role
The Anaesthetic Department at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital is looking to recruit a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join our team of dedicated clinicians. Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital is a large district general hospital providing care for the diverse population across East Kent.
The hospital provides surgical services for the colorectal cancer and other specialties, including gynae, ENT, trauma surgery, breast, Robotics, CEPOD/Emergency and paediatrics. We have a busy obstetric unit with 3000 deliveries a year. Chronic pain, vascular and urology services are based at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital. Most elective Orthopaedic services for the trust are also now provided at the state-of-the-art Elective Orthopaedic Centre in Canterbury and there will be an opportunity to work across more than one hospital site. There is a well-established preassessment service providing support for all surgical specialties.
Job Plan
Job plan of this post can be flexibly allocated to suit the needs of the department and individual. This will be a 10+2 PA position, where the successful candidate will be expected to run lists independently but will at times work with consultants or trainee doctors. Special interests of the successful candidate will be accommodated where possible. There is a 1 PA allocation for SPA to support necessary CPD appraisal and revalidation and completion of mandatory training. Further SPA time is negotiable for candidates who take on additional roles.
