- Providing specialist advice to other clinical colleagues in other dental disciplines
About the Department
The Oral Medicine department is situated within King’s College Dental Institute and celebrated 100 years of being based at Denmark Hill in 2023. The department is situated on the ground floor in the consultants’ clinic which consists of 10 consultation rooms and works closely with the adjacent King’s College Medical Hospital. The Oral Medicine team is also based at the Gillies Unit situated on the second floor of the main Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup.
Requirements
Applicants must have a GDC registerable U.K. dental qualification or equivalent and be on the specialist list for oral medicine or be eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview.

Responsibilities
- Provide a service for all oral medicine patients at King’s, including all aspects of clinical treatment and relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the department.
- Responsible for out-patient clinic commitments in peripheral hospitals as agreed by the clinical lead.
- Take an active role in the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the department’s/Division’s Business Plan. This may include assisting with discussions regarding service plans and developments with internal and external agencies.
