Applications are invited for the post of Specialty Doctor in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Warwick Hospital.
You will join a well-established and supportive multidisciplinary team delivering both elective and trauma orthopaedic services. The medical team consists of Consultants, Associate Specialists, Specialty Doctors and Specialty Registrars, supported by Junior and Foundation Doctors. The wider multidisciplinary team includes an Orthogeriatric Specialty Doctor, Advanced Practice Physiotherapists, Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs), Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioners and experienced nursing and allied health professional colleagues, working collaboratively to provide high-quality patient care.
Applicants Should Have The Following
- Full registration with the General Medical Council
- Minimum of 4 years in the Registrar/Staff grade/Specialty doctor grade.
The Post Holder Will Be Expected To
- Provide high-quality clinical care for patients within the Trauma & Orthopaedic service.
- Participate in outpatient clinics, elective and trauma operating lists, inpatient ward rounds and the management of acute trauma admissions.
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, working within their level of competence and seeking senior support where appropriate.
- Work closely with Consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care.
- Contribute to the daily trauma service, supporting timely assessment and treatment of patients admitted via the Emergency Department.
- Participate in the on-call rota.
- Support the supervision, teaching and development of junior medical staff and medical students where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to clinical governance activities, including audit, quality improvement and service development.
- Comply with Trust policies, professional standards and mandatory training requirements.
