Entry Criteria For a Specialty Doctor

A doctor appointed to this grade:

  • Shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC);
  • Shall have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT);
  • Or shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.

Application Information

Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based in Ellen Glen Hospital. You may also be required to work at other NHS Lothian sites.

Applications are invited for a Speciality Doctor post to work within the Edinburgh Community Geriatrics Service (ECGS) in the Edinburgh Hospital at Home. It is based at Ellens Glen Hospital. This post is specifically to work within the Edinburgh Hospital at Home Service. There is no on call or out of hours working associated with this post other than working with colleagues to ensure public holidays are covered. Flexible working and compressed working is supported.
