Job Opportunity at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust
The position is based at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, a major acute medical and surgical provider for Reading, Wokingham, and West Berkshire, with specialist renal services extending across the region. The Trust is a large employer, delivering over 600,000 patient care episodes annually.
The Trust operates a successful AMU for acute medical and surgical GP referrals, managed by a multidisciplinary team. The AMU includes assessment beds, higher monitoring beds, and is adjacent to the Emergency Department and Radiology. Cardiac emergencies and stroke thrombolysis are managed with dedicated consultant presence.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will join the renal team, working primarily on the Victoria Ward and supporting renal and general medical inpatients, as well as patients referred by other specialties. The Berkshire Kidney Unit offers acute haemodialysis and plasma exchange, and the role includes opportunities to attend specialty clinics (e.g., transplant, vasculitis).
