Specialty Doctor Opportunity in Emergency Department

Role Details

We are looking for both established specialty doctors looking for a new challenge or for post-CCT trainees, wanting a bit more experience before stepping into a consultant role. We also have experience of successfully supporting colleagues through FRCEM and CESR.

Location:
The post is based in the Emergency Department at Airedale General Hospital.

Responsibilities:
The post holder/s will be responsible to the ED consultants and will be expected to:

  • Be involved in the initial reception and management of patients attending the Department.
  • Be involved in the teaching of junior doctors, medical students, and nursing staff.
  • Undertake some administrative responsibilities, e.g. daily auditing of x-ray and pathology results.
  • Assist the consultants in the running of the shop floor, ensuring patients are seen by appropriate staff in a timely fashion, that junior staff are appropriately supervised, and receive adequate rest/meal breaks.

The post-holder undertakes exceptionally to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances essential to the continuity of patient care.
