Marston Foods is a dessert manufacturer based in Frome in the Somerset countryside, specializing in hand-finished, and hand-packed products.
Role Description
The Specification & Artwork Technologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Frome. This role is responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating product specifications to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency across all dessert lines. The position includes managing artwork for packaging, checking labels and designs against legal, customer, and brand requirements, and coordinating changes with internal teams and external partners. Daily tasks would include data entry into specification systems, reviewing proofs, supporting customer queries, and contributing to continuous improvement of specification and artwork processes.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with writing retailer online specification systems
- Organisational skills for requesting and filing material information
- Experience with checking artwork and legal labelling requirements
- Knowledge of specifying transit packaging and completing transit trials
- Experience with 3rd party online systems such as Brandbank and Valpack
- Ability to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines
- Good personal and communication skills
- Be flexible to attend customer visits/meetings
- Good attention to detail
