Specification Lead Role Summary
London | Technical Group | Project Director Level | Salary DOE
An AJ100 architecture practice is looking for an experienced Specification Lead to join its growing Technical Group. This is a senior role combining strategic responsibility for the practice’s specification standards with hands-on project delivery across UK and international architecture and interiors projects.
The Role
- Lead the practice-wide transition from CAWS to Uniclass 2015
- Modernise the use of NBS Chorus and develop master specifications
- Lead specification writing and review on major projects
- Ensure specifications are technically accurate, coordinated, and compliant
- Advise Project Directors on complex materials and technical detailing
- Work with the Digital Team to integrate specifications with Revit and BIM
- Develop specification workflows across RIBA stages
- Lead training and knowledge-sharing across Architecture and Interiors

About You
- Significant UK industry experience
- Strong background in architectural and interior fit-out specifications
- Advanced knowledge of NBS Chorus and Uniclass 2015
- Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations
- Confident communicating complex technical information to designers and clients
- MCIAT, RIBA or equivalent professional technical background
