Your Role in Synergy's Success

  • To ensure that all products, packaging, labels and supporting documentation are accurate and compliant with current UK and EU legislation, legal requirements in the export markets served, and all customer standards.

  • Provide timely and accurate Specifications and Safety Data Sheets as part of the Synergy NPI process.

  • Coordinate and provide timely and accurate technical information to customers both in Synergy and other customer-specified templates (including online systems e.g. Qadex/Hamilton Grant).

  • Support the compliance and approval of appropriate Synergy products to 3rd party certification requirements (Organic/Halal/Kosher/Fair Trade).

  • Completion of other appropriate tasks, as necessary, to support the Synergy Business.

  • Ensure products, packaging, labels and supporting documentation meet UK, EU and relevant export market requirements.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate product specifications, Safety Data Sheets and technical documentation.

  • Provide timely and accurate technical information to customers using Synergy and customer-specific systems and templates.

  • Support customer requests through online platforms such as Qadex and Hamilton Grant.

  • Review and validate regulatory information, including ingredients, allergens, nutrition and product composition.

  • Support product compliance with third-party certification requirements, including Organic, Halal, Kosher and Fair Trade.

  • Review and approve new raw materials to ensure regulatory and technical compliance.

  • Work directly with suppliers to obtain required technical and regulatory information.

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date regulatory and specification data and ensure information is easily accessible.

  • Support the Regulatory Manager with new product development and product launches.

  • Help ensure regulatory requirements are met across Synergy UK and Ireland sites.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and ways of working within the Regulatory team.

Key Ingredients for Success

Essential

  • Degree in Food Science, Science or a related subject.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage large amounts of information within tight deadlines.

  • A proactive and creative approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.

Desirable

  • Experience in a Specifications Technologist or similar technical role within the food ingredients industry.

  • Experience within the flavour industry.

  • Experience using internal or external specification systems and databases.

  • Knowledge or experience of food regulatory and compliance requirements.
