Regulatory Technologist/Specifications Technologist
Permanent | Full-Time | Remote with Travel to London Head Office
Help Businesses Bring Safe, Compliant Products to Market
At Food Alert, we're passionate about making compliance simple, practical and commercially focused.
For over 30 years we've helped businesses navigate increasingly complex legislation, giving them the confidence to develop, launch and sell products that are safe, compliant and fit for market.
Today we support clients across food manufacturing, hospitality, retail, consumer products and professional services, providing expert regulatory advice that protects brands and helps businesses grow.
We're proud to be part of Citation Group, one of the UK's leading providers of Health & Safety, HR, Employment Law and ISO services. Supporting over 110,000 businesses nationwide and backed by KKR, Hg Capital and HarbourVest, we're continuing to invest heavily in our technical capability.
We're now looking for an experienced Regulatory Technologist to join our growing Technical Services team.
The Opportunity
This isn't a role where you'll spend every day working on the same product range.
Instead, you'll work with a diverse portfolio of clients, providing expert advice on product compliance, specifications, labelling and regulatory requirements.
Depending on your experience, you may specialise in food products, non-food consumer products or support a mixture of both.
Whatever your background, you'll become a trusted adviser, helping clients confidently navigate legislation, reduce risk and bring compliant products to market.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
