About The Role
As a Customer Specification Technologist, you will support a key business project focused on updating retailer product specifications in preparation for the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS). You will be responsible for ensuring customer specifications, pack copy and artwork remain compliant with customer requirements, food labelling legislation and upcoming regulatory changes.
This role requires a highly organised individual with extensive experience working with major UK retailer specification systems and the ability to manage multiple products, stakeholders and deadlines whilst maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing retailer customer specifications, ensuring DRS requirements and legislative changes are accurately reflected.
- Reviewing and approving artwork to ensure compliance with pack copy, labelling legislation and customer standards.
- Liaising with customers and their Technical Service Providers (TSPs) to resolve specification and artwork queries.
- Progressing specifications through retailer systems and ensuring products are approved and active in line with launch timelines.
- Working closely with Technical, NPD and Commercial teams to ensure specification data is accurate and up to date.
- Supporting compliance activities by maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, data integrity and customer service.

About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced Customer Specification Technologist with a strong understanding of retailer specification systems, food labelling legislation and artwork approval processes.
You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be highly organised and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience working with major retailer specification platforms and web-based customer systems.
- Proven experience managing retailer customer specifications within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of food labelling legislation and customer labelling policies.
- Experience reviewing and approving product artwork.
- Understanding of customer product lifecycle management processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of data input.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive approach.
Experience within the soft drinks category, HACCP Level 3 certification and the ability to interpret microbiological and nutritional data would be advantageous.
