Speech & Language Therapist (SALT)
Kent | Specialist Education Setting | Term-Time Only
We are currently supporting a specialist school in Kent to recruit a Speech & Language Therapist to join their established therapy team on an interim basis while permanent recruitment is underway.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced therapist who enjoys working within a multidisciplinary school environment and is confident managing their own caseload. The setting supports approximately 140 pupils on a single site and has a strong therapy provision already in place, including a Senior SALT and additional therapists delivering universal support across the school.
The Opportunity
- Full-time, term-time only position
- Open to one full-time therapist or two part-time therapists
- Ongoing contract, anticipated to be around six months
- Competitive daily rate

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver integrated speech and language therapy within classroom environments
- Provide classroom-based support and collaborative interventions alongside school staff
- Lead small group therapy sessions where appropriate
- Deliver direct 1:1 interventions for pupils requiring targeted support
- Independently manage and prioritise an allocated caseload
- Complete assessments and develop appropriate therapy plans
- Contribute to annual review documentation and written SALT reports where required
- Work closely with teaching staff, families and the wider therapy team to support positive outcomes for pupils
About You
To be considered, you will:
- Be a qualified Speech & Language Therapist with relevant professional registration
- Have previous experience working within a school setting (essential)
- Be confident working autonomously and managing a varied caseload
- Have strong assessment, intervention and report-writing skills
- Be comfortable working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Be passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs
