The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speech and Language Therapist to join the Community Paediatric Team in West Dunbartonshire on a fixed-term basis. Based at The Vale Centre for Health and Care, you will work across West Dunbartonshire, supporting children and young people aged 0-18 years with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs. As part of a friendly, experienced and highly supportive multidisciplinary team, you will deliver assessment, diagnosis, intervention and pre-referral activity that positively impacts children and their families. - Duration: Full-time, fixed-term until 30th November 2027
- Location: The Vale Centre for Health & Care
- Working Pattern: Monday - Friday 09:00 am - 16:42 pm

Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and provide therapy for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs
- Deliver individualised intervention programmes and evaluate outcomes to support progress and development
- Manage and prioritise your own clinical caseload as an autonomous practitioner
- Work collaboratively with families, education colleagues and multidisciplinary professionals to develop and achieve shared goals
- Maintain accurate clinical records, reports and documentation in line with professional standards and policies
- Contribute to pre-referral activity, service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives
- Support training, learning and knowledge sharing across health, education and partner agencies
Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent qualification
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and professionals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team within community settings
- Understanding of assessment, diagnosis and intervention approaches for a range of speech, language and communication needs
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks and maintain accurate records
- Commitment to continuing professional development with a full driving licence and access to transport for travel throughout West Dunbartonshire
