About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our vibrant, inclusive primary school community in Greenwich. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based speech, language and communication interventions to pupils across the primary age range, working within a mainstream setting that values every child's voice.
This is an exciting opportunity for a therapist who wants to make a tangible difference. You will be working closely with teachers, teaching assistants, SENCOs and families to embed communication support throughout the school day, not just in withdrawal sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and small-group speech, language and communication interventions for pupils with a range of needs, including SLCN, ASC, developmental language disorder and social communication difficulties
- Carry out assessments and contribute to EHCP applications, reviews and reports
- Train and coach teaching staff and TAs to embed communication-friendly strategies in the classroom
- Work collaboratively with the SENCO and pastoral team to plan and monitor provision
- Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies (NHS SLT services, educational psychologists, etc.)
- Track pupil progress and outcomes, adapting interventions as needed
- Contribute to the school's wider SEND strategy and whole-school inclusion approach

What We're Looking For
- HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist (essential)
- RCSLT membership (desirable)
- Experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of speech, language and communication needs, including EAL considerations (reflecting Newham's diverse pupil population)
- Excellent communication and collaborative working skills
- A flexible, child-centred approach and a genuine commitment to inclusive education
- Enhanced DBS check (required)
