Dorset HealthCare are looking for a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our supportive team!
About the Role
As a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant you will be joining The Dorset Community Adult Speech and Language Therapy service that is supportive and dynamic. You will be responsible for supporting patients and the service across Shelley Road and Alderney Hospital sites. We welcome ideas of change that could contribute to creating a better service for people living with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties.
Responsibilities
- Implement planned treatment interventions and assist in the development of programmes of care under the direction from qualified clinicians.
- Provide confidential administration, secretarial and IT support to the Community Speech and Language Therapy Service.
- Take responsibility for the maintenance and preparation of the communication aids used within the service.
Support
You will be supported by Speech and Language Therapists including a team manager and clinical manager. You will have the opportunity to work with SLT assistants and local adult acute SLT teams and the paediatric SLT community team is available to enable development. We offer CPD opportunities, regular supervision and peer supervision.

Working Conditions
We could be flexible with how the hours are met over the working days, as long as the services needs are met. We embrace flexible working and we support a hybrid model of working from home as well as the office.
Requirements
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.
