Paediatrics (SEN)

Location: Kent
Job Type: Locum
Band: 5 or 6
Pay Rate: £35 per hour
Start Date: September 2026

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Band 5/6 Speech and Language Therapist to work within a specialist SEN school in Kent. This locum opportunity is supporting children and young people with special educational needs, complex communication needs, and physical disabilities.

You will assess, plan, and deliver speech and language therapy interventions that enable pupils to maximise their communication skills, independence, and participation within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a specialist paediatric SEN caseload.
  • Complete comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes.
  • Support pupils with complex communication needs.
  • Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and reports.

Requirements

  • HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Band 5 or Band 6 experience.
  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Previous SEN, paediatric, or school-based experience is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
