Desirable Criteria

• Additional qualifications or certifications in specialist areas of speech and language therapy, such as autism spectrum conditions, fluency disorders or voice disorders.
• Experience working in international or multicultural settings.
• Knowledge of the Egyptian education system and local SEND landscape.
• Proficiency in Arabic or other relevant languages.
• Experience delivering training or workshops for parents and educators.

Specific Responsibilities

Assessment and Diagnosis

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language and communication assessments using standardised and non-standardised tools.
• Analyse assessment results to diagnose specific speech and language disorders.
• Set clear, measurable goals in collaboration with the child, family and other team members.

Therapy Provision

• Deliver individual and group therapy sessions focused on improving communication skills.
• Implement evidence-based interventions addressing articulation, language, fluency, voice and social communication disorders.
• Adapt interventions in response to ongoing assessment of progress and changing needs.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with other team members to ensure coordinated care and support.
• Provide clear, jargon-free explanations of assessments and interventions to families and educators.
• Contribute concise reports on child progress and recommendations at team meetings.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain detailed and accurate therapy notes for each session.
• Write comprehensive reports covering assessment findings, interventions and progress.
• Contribute to the development and review of IEPs and other formal documentation.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

• Assess the need for AAC systems and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Train children, families and educators in the use of AAC devices and strategies.
• Monitor and adjust AAC interventions to ensure their effectiveness.

Parent and Educator Training

• Develop and deliver training sessions on supporting children's communication needs.
• Provide ongoing guidance to families and educators on implementing communication strategies at home and in educational settings.

Pre-employment Requirements

• Provide a minimum of three professional references.
• Complete comprehensive background checks and safeguarding verification.
• Provide evidence of HCPC registration, or equivalent professional registration, and relevant qualifications.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of child-protection policies and procedures.
