Exciting Opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our established specialist service based in the Forest of Dean at Colliers Court in Gloucestershire.
About the Role
The Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and skilled Speech and Language Therapist for the Forest and Gloucester Learning Disability Teams.
This post is open to newly qualified practitioners looking for their first Band 5, however, we would also be keen to consider applications from more experienced Band 5s.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist communication assessment and interventions to individuals or groups of service users.
- Provide eating and drinking assessments and interventions to individual service users within the scope of your professional competencies. It is anticipated you will be supported to access accredited post-grad dysphagia training as required.
- Support the provision of a specialist Speech and Language Therapy Service to adults with learning disabilities.
- Provide education, training, support and advice to colleagues and carers to enable them to provide the best possible care and quality of life for clients.
- Provide clinical supervision for less experienced Speech and Language Therapists and for Speech and Language Therapy Students.
- Carry out delegated tasks in policy and service development.
