Why this job is exciting
The role:
We are seeking a Speech Technology Research Intern to join us for a 6-month research project, with a total salary of £13,500 (calculated at a £27,000 annual rate).
As Speech Technology Research Intern, you will:
- Work with the speech technology teams in Capacity on a 6-month research project
- Investigate models for text-to-speech
- Research the current state-of-the-art in a topic involving TTS, ASR, speech-to-speech models, or speech analysis
- Develop models using Pytorch/Tensorflow, Python
- Collect and collate training databases
- Test custom models and record the output of experiments
- Assist the technical team with productization
- Receive in-person mentoring and support from experienced researchers
- Gain experience building AI models in a commercial environment
- Work on other research projects across the speech teams at Capacity as required

Requirements:
- Masters qualification in Speech Technology or a related field (such as Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics), or be studying for a PhD in Speech Technology or a related field
- Experience building and training neural network models
- Experience of Python programming
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience programming in C, C++, Go
- Experience of working in speech technology
