Overview
As Speechify expands, our AI team seeks a Senior Backend Engineer. This role is central to ensuring our infrastructure scales efficiently, optimizing key product flows, and constructing resilient end-to-end systems. If you are passionate about strategizing, enjoy high-paced environments, and are eager to take ownership of product decisions, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Ship Node.js services that make it easy for Speechify’s product teams to bring the full power of our AI Voices to their customers for a diverse range of use cases.
- Deploy and operate the core ML inference workloads for our AI Voices serving pipeline.

An Ideal Candidate Should Have
- Experience shipping Node.js services written in Typescript (required)
- Experience being responsible for the successful operation of a critical production service
- Experience with public cloud environments, GCP preferred
- Experience with Infrastructure such as Code, Docker, and containerized deployments.
- Preferred: Experience deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes.
- Preferred: Experience deploying ML models to production
