The Role
Cybersecurity and Technology Risk professional with 5+ years of experience in security assurance, audit, risk assessment, and control testing within financial services and banking environments. Skilled in evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of security controls, reviewing security policies, standards, configurations, and technical evidence to ensure regulatory and organizational compliance. Proven ability to identify risks, strengthen security posture, and support governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) initiatives across complex technology landscape.
Your responsibilities
- Maintain and administer the Splunk platform, including Splunk Cloud and ITSI, to meet business and operational requirements.
- Provide production support for incidents, problems, and change management activities.
- Optimise Splunk platform performance, data ingestion, indexing, and search efficiency.
- Support platform upgrades, migrations, integrations, and onboarding of new workloads.
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and application teams to improve monitoring and observability.
- Monitor and assess dashboards, reports, alerts, and use cases using SPL and platform tools.
- Drive automation and simplification of operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Ensure platform operations comply with security, compliance, audit, and governance requirements.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives focused on reliability, resilience, scalability, and cost optimisation.
- Support monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions for critical applications and participate in on-call where required.

Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise and/or Splunk Cloud administration in enterprise-scale environments.
- Experience with monitoring, logging and observability solutions across infrastructure and application environments.
- Strong experience with Splunk data onboarding, parsing and transformation activities.
- Good understanding of Linux platform, infrastructure concepts and operational support requirements.
- Experience in incident management, problem management and change management processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex Splunk and infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Experience working in enterprise-scale environments with distributed teams and production support models.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience
- Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security, ITSI or advanced observability use cases.
- Knowledge of Splunk distributed architecture, clustering, index management and license management.
- Exposure to automation or scripting using Python, Shell or PowerShell.
- Understanding of Windows, networking, TCP/IP and common security or infrastructure log sources.
- Good documentation, communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Splunk Certification
