Sponsorship Governance Facilitator

We are seeking a Sponsorship Governance Facilitator to join the Sponsorship Team within the R&I Office at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with clinical research management experience looking to take on a research governance role.

The post holder will provide advice and regulatory support to researchers from confirmation of grant application, through sponsorship and regulatory approval, initiation at sites, study conduct and close-down; ensuring studies meet regulatory requirements and other obligations as Sponsor, and working closely with investigators, project managers, internal research support services and external collaborating organisations throughout the lifecycle of a research study.

The study portfolio will include CTIMPs, device trials, surgical and interventional trials, basic science studies involving procedures with human participants, observational studies, qualitative research and studies working with tissue or data. The post holder will be required to work autonomously, managing their day-to-day workload and prioritising as needed.

As a key member of the sponsor team, you will provide regulatory support and advice to researchers and collaborators throughout the lifecycle of a portfolio of research studies, supporting the Trust to meet its obligations as research sponsor.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
